Pentagon opens a protected UAP disclosure channel to PURSUE

The Department of War announced a targeted legal waiver on September 14 for current and former service members, civilian personnel, and contractors who hold or previously held access to UAP-related National Defense Information. The department says those people may provide protected information directly to designated representatives of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, or PURSUE.

The waiver is narrower than a general release from secrecy. It supersedes civil and administrative enforcement provisions in U.S.-executed nondisclosure agreements and Special Access Program Indoctrination Agreements strictly for communications to the PURSUE team. Material entering the channel remains subject to systematic review, security evaluation, and potential declassification. The announcement does not publish testimony, authenticate a program, restore a specific person's clearance, or establish nonhuman technology.
